''Just wanted to say thanks again for a lovely stay in your gorgeous hotel. It was a flying visit but so needed to be out of London and into the countryside. We enjoyed every second of our trip and hope to visit again in the future. You have a lovely hotel and run in it a way that is so warming and calming for guests, it was a pleasure to stay with you. Thanks again for everything. Best wishes. Fiona and Edmund EQ''

On arrival, we had an issue with our room and the owners offered another room without hesitation - thank you!. The room and facilities were good, clean and comfortable.
2nd November 2011 - Trip Advisor - ''Weekend Break''
We had had a really dreadful week and needed a bolthole. Would completely echo the review of soulqueen19. The owners are fabulous and cannot do enough for you. Ditto best breakfast ever!!!!!!!
7th October 2011 - Trip Advisor - ''A little gem''
I would highly recommend Hilden Lodge to anybody who wanted high quality, clean, friendly accomodation. The breakfast was the best I have experienced at any hotel or guest house and the couple who run the place are incredibly friendly and helpful. Even offering to fetch me some take away food for my supper if I so wished. I hope to visit again soon.
29th August 2011- Trip Advisor - ''Lovely hotel under excellent new management''
Garry and Dominique, the new managers, were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The room and ensuite shower were not huge but quite sufficient, nicely furnished and clean and fresh. The facilities generally were very good and breakfast was excellent - very good quality food, with organic jams, delicious cooked breakfast selection or scrambled egg with smoked salmon on an English muffin. Altogether we were really impressed and would book again without hesitation.

This was the best breakfast we have had in a month of travelling. In fact, it was one of the best breakfasts, ever. It felt like a hotel run by a family and was very welcoming, clean and comfortable. Staff recommended a restaurant down the road, which was excellent. Parking was easy, hotel was easy to locate as well. You should stay here, just for the breakfast!
“Gorgeous decor, immaculately clean, best breakfast ever.... We were greeted by the owner (Lizzie) who's customer service was fantastic - we arrived early and at a busy time for the Cheltenham Festival but Lizzie was brilliant, arranging transport and a free room for us to get changed in which was great. The lobby of the hotel is beautiful, spotlessly clean and fresh smelling. We stayed in a family room, again, decorated to a beautiful standard (exactly like web-site) with a large immaculate bathroom. The breakfast area along with the rest of the Guest House is cleaned and decorated to an excellent standard. The food was superb !!!! we had full breakfast each day and would definitely give 10 out of 10 each time. Tried both of the recommended eateries nearby The Langton and Kings and both were excellent. Thanks to the whole team we had a fantastic stay, wanted to stay longer x" Ms. Arthur (March 2011)
"Warm Welcome from Freezing Snow! When passing Hilden Lodge in a blizzard we asked on the off chance if they had any vacancies. What a lucky find purely by chance. A warm welcome, lovely room, soft towels, excellent tea and coffee making facilities and to crown it all an establishment geared up for a delicious gluten-free breakfast. We could not find any fault with our stay !" David Bown (December 2010)
"Wonderful Wedding Day! Lizzie and Nick did all that was possible to make the Wedding Day of our son something very special. The rooms were excellent and spotlessly clean and the whole hotel was welcoming and beautiful. Nick provided a superb buffet lunch and nothing was too much trouble, From providing gluten free menus for our daughter to special meals for the young children. As we all stayed the night it made for a really happy family occasion, one that does not happen very often. and then we all had a superb breakfast to help us on our way! Lizzie and Nick were on duty the whole day and must have been so tired but did not flag or cease to provide wonderful attention. Thank you both very much" Mrs. Barnes (November 2010)
"Exceeded Expectations! We chose to stay at the Hilden Lodge on the basis of their very positive reviews on trip advisor. Having stayed there for one night we are happy to add to the list of great reviews that they have already received. A good location, extremely high quality accomodation and also friendly and helpful service all made for a very enjoyable experience. We have no hesitation in recommending this venue to other travellers."
The Thompson Family (October 2010)
"Excellent Value! This is a real hidden gem of a place, and good value for money, spotless, great selection for breakfast, would certainly stay again."

"A Real Welcome! Lizzie and Nik have obviously put a lot of thought into this venture. The welcome was great - with helpful suggestions of sightseeing around the Cotswolds and lots of information about the immediate area.
There is free off-street parking for about 8 cars (depending on the abilities of your fellow guests to park in a straight line!). The room I had was bright, airy and beautifully decorated. The bed was very comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. The wardrobe smelt nice (I know that's an odd thing to comment on - but you know it's a bad sign when the wardrobe smells stale!) and it was adequately roomy. There was plentiful drawer space, two good well-positioned mirrors , a comfy chair and a dressing-table stool.
The room was equipped with a radio/alarm which even I could work out how to use, a small but deceptively-powerful hairdryer, a good-sized kettle and tea/coffee/hot chocolate/biscuits. Also an information pack. There was a TV/DVD player and - joy of joys - a very comprehensive DVD library which Lizzie and Nik are happy for guests to borrow from. Free wifi is available in all rooms.
The bathroom was small but spotlessly clean, loads of hot water and a nice basic range of toiletries. I would have preferred a larger bath towel but that's just me being fussy.
The only meal on offer was breakfast - the selection was good, the food delicious and the coffee - fantastic.
Whilst no evening meal is offered you are welcome to take your own cold food up to the rooms or to order a takeaway to eat in the dining room. Otherwise there is a really nice pub-eatery a short walk away.
Hilden Lodge has a bar available until 10pm with a good selection and some particularly nice local bottled ales.
It is an easy drive from Hilden Lodge to all sorts of Cotswold delights and a 20 minute walk into the centre of Cheltenham, or 35 minutes if you're lazy, overweight, ate too much breakfast and the weather is hot!
A good tip = look at the Hilden Lodge Facebook page - it has more information about what's on in Cheltenham than any other source I could find on the net!

"Excellent Visit- Home away from home! Wonderful and friendly managers...excellent breakfast...a great relaxing, comfortable home away from home, as we moved into the area and waited on our house to be ready. Thank you so much for your hospitality. We really enjoyed our stay there, and helped make the transition into the UK smoothly!"
The Read Family (July 2010)
"Will Stay Here Again!! Arrived hot and tired and were greeted on the doorstep by Lizzie. She got us signed in quickly and showed us to our very comfortable bedroom. We had a lovely nights' sleep followed by an extremely good breakfast. Hilden Lodge is a lovely old house, full of character, and yet the facilities are contemporary and tasteful. Our room was directly at the top of the main stairs and this could mean disturbed sleep if other guests were inconsiderate. Would recommend to a friend." Mrs. P. (June 2010)
"Faultless. Greeted at the door at 5pm by very helpful staff, the room was spotless and comfortable, and the morning breakfast options were excellent, including the vegetarian fry-up that my girlfriend had. Everything was perfect. Would recommend to a friend."

"It was a very friendly environment that made us feel like we were at home. We stayed for a few nights and couldn't have asked for a better stay. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was fantastic! It was a very clean and inviting place. The hosts were always there to help and arranged anything we needed without a problem." Ms. S. (May 2010)
"Perfect! Very clean, friendly, staff very welcoming and good location. Price is brilliant and breakfast is delicious!! The staff are very helpful and make the stay most enjoyable, especially if you are on your own and don't know the area." Lisa (April 2010)
"Friendly greeting and superb breakfast. We stayed in the family room, lots of nice touches, decor was lovely, very clean. I would have preferred a more powerful shower but I realise this isn't possible over a bath. The breakfast was probably the best I have ever eaten in a british hotel. Food can be cooked in low fat oils etc - nothing was too much trouble for the delightful manager and manageress. We also ate the evening meal in a superb gastro pub, the Langton, which was a ten minute walk away - thoroughly recommended."
